About Our Regan Cousins
Céad Míle Fáilte !
Jeremiah Regan and Ellen Cain (Kane, Keane) were married on February 13, 1822 in
Glanatnaw (Glounathnaw), Caheragh, County Cork, Ireland. They had at least ten
children; and most lived in Ireland although one or possibly two lived in Wales.
Most of their grandchildren left Ireland for England, Wales and the United States.
Some moved on to California, Illinois, Louisiana, Montana, Utah. There is the
possibility of a Canada connection but we have not yet found the missing link. While
they came as farmers, most of the young men worked in steel mills, or as miners,
laborers, bartenders, policemen, firemen or whatever it took to support and educate
their families. This is their story and includes those they married.
